Dedicated to the memory of Grahame Carter, 1976 - 2024

It is hard to put into words how loved and respected Grahame was. Warm, kind, funny, caring and generous - Grahame had an infectious passion for life and made close friends everywhere he went.

His loving family, friends and colleagues will miss him terribly and will cherish the many wonderful memories shared with him.

We have setup this tribute page to enable the many people who knew and loved Grahame to share their memories, photographs and tributes. We hope they will be a source of comfort for years to come for those he has left behind.

Thank you for support in these unimaginable circumstances.

Thoughts

GC is a legend. The first person to really believe in me, I owe allot of my progression and success to him. I loved working with and for him, he was inspirational. The best bit about him was his social ability to engage anyone from anywhere and any level and make them feel as ease. I will never forget a couple of memories, after a night out in London I awoke being cuddled by this gigantic teddy bear (GC) who was wearing the most ridiculous set of pj’s…….remember this was my boss. I will also never forget his inability to get peoples names right, this climaxed when on a night out he consistently called our biggest customer Jane when her name was actually Carol. It was hilarious and super awkward all at the same time, but as always he somehow managed to get the client eating out of his pocket

Where can I start , I only found out about poor grahames accident today and quietly came home and shed some tears. I did not know him for very long but he was just the most amazing neighbour anyone could have , Him and roma treated my children as if they were their own. I was over one day and my son and Grahame were cuddled up on grahames sofa it was so nice of him to do that. Grahame was so kind and so caring he will definitely be missed as a neighbour. Thoughts go to anyone who knew him his imprint on our lives will never be forgotton much love to Roma and Harry and Evie.

It has taken me a little while to write this, I didn't have 20 years of memories like others, but the time I did have was so special. I first met Grahame at Cheltenham - we had both been invited by Kingsbridge but didn't spend much time chatting that day. Our paths crossed again when I was introduced to Gattaca for a potential role - little did I know that I would be having daily and weekly meetings in the middle of a pandemic just 3 months later. Grahame became a boss, friend and mentor and frankly helped me through the pandemic more than anyone else. He always started his calls / meetings with "How are you Lady?" he cared about how I was before anything else. He epitomised nothing being to big, believed in me and my ability, and made me feel warm and cared for. That was his superpower. I met Grahame when I left the business and soon after I returned. He was a big factor in returning. It often strikes me that the best people are taken too early, but the impact Grahame had on me and everyone around him was twice what others will achieve in the same timeframe. The world is a poorer place without you Grahame but you enriched it a millionfold in the time you had. Thank you for being you - and I am trying to "be more Grahame" every day in your memory. Much love xxx
