I've really overthought writing this, but today has probably been the first day since losing you that the business has had a lovely little buzz around it, as we have fund raised for several charities and eaten a lot of cake - you would have loved it. A couple of things that make me smile when I think of you, our Thursday morning 10km club; I can't believe it was TEN years ago that you, me, Wraggy, Swifty, TC and Si used to go out running most Thursday mornings, you and I would love it when the others were out and couldn't join, we'd have a 'steady plod' reversing the route, telling ourselves as we started off "this will be nice, no horrid hill past the boatyard" only to quickly be reminded that actually the incline was the same, it was just longer and even more painful!
We had fun nights out with the Matchtech / Gattaca troops but our common ground really was our children. I couldn't go to any event with the girls where you wouldn't want a little squish, you'd always ask after them, compare my trips to the theatre with Arla to yours with Evie. I spent a lot of time going through our last whatsapps after you died and the overwhelming themes were the pride you had for your children (the last pic you sent me was Evie at her graduation) and that we should have probably listened more in meetings as there were definitely messages exchanged when we should have been concentrating :)
Everything is a little 'greyer' without you here, but you have left a mark on this business, your colleagues and friends that will never fade. Rest easy buddy.
